Clutch Era: Destiny Eleven for Counter-Strike 2

Clutch Era is a narrative pro-career game set in Counter-Strike 2. If you have played Destiny Eleven, or Rift Legacy on DPM.LOL, you already know the shape of it: one player, one decision at a time, from sixteen to retirement. This is that game, played in CS2.

What a career looks like

You make a player — a handle, a role, a region, a starting org — and then you play months. A month is three to five decisions, a minigame and a match: an argument with your IGL, a sponsor who wants a video, an offer you should probably refuse; then a clutch bar, an aim trainer, a spray-control drill or one of seven tests of nerve; then the server.

Under all of it a real league runs. Ten orgs, a full round robin of best-of-threes, a table and a playoff bracket, and it keeps moving whether you are looking at it or not. Twice a year the Major comes round — Swiss stages, then an eight-team bracket. Twice a year the transfer window opens, and someone either calls or does not.

It ends the way the real thing ends: early. You retire, and the career is scored out of 100.

What it takes from the real scene

Teams are ranked with Valve's VRS, reproduced from the numbers Valve published rather than approximated — a bounded, field-relative rank value, not a running total. Players carry an HLTV-style rating. Both were researched before they were written, and both are pinned by tests.

The Legacy Rating at the end is calibrated against several hundred simulated careers, so the number is a percentile rather than a pat on the head: the median career scores in the thirties, and fewer than one in a hundred clears 90.

Free, and it stays in your browser

Nothing to pay. It runs in your browser, it saves in your browser, there is no account and no server. English and French. A new daily challenge every day, a shareable link for a head-to-head against a friend's career, and a Pantheon of your best runs.

Where it comes from

Clutch Era is largely inspired by Destiny Eleven, Maxence Pigné's football career game, and by Rift Legacy, DPM.LOL's League of Legends one. Same idea, different game: one player, one decision at a time, a whole career in an evening.

It is a fan project. It is not affiliated with Destiny Eleven, with DPM.LOL, or with Valve Corporation. Org logos come via Liquipedia and stay the property of their owners.
